Mexico now has
a seat-belt law.
Cancun has a number of reasonably priced venues/attractions for visitors to enjoy beyond the dynamic club scene. You can relax and enjoy a delicious lobster dinner with live folk dancing or take a dinner cruise or enjoy your meal on a pirate ship.
Even venturing into Cancun City and eating in a truly Mexican restaurant can be exciting.
Below is a list of interesting possibilities that do not require you to leave Cancun to experience.
El Mexicano Restaurant Folkloric Ballet & Mariachis
The entertainment alternates each night with mariachis entertaining off and on from 7 to 11pm and a folkloric show from 8 to 9:30pm.
Ballet Folklorico de Cancun
Casa De Cultura Art Center
Columbus Royal Yacht Club
Teatro De Cancun [Voces y Danzas de Mexico]
Tradicion Del Caribe
AquaWorld's Cancun Queen
Movie-lovers will be pleased to find the latest shows [in English] offered at the 10 fully equipped theatres in the plush cinema complex Cinemark. Located in the La Isla Shopping Mall.
If you are looking for a nice club to socialize in and don't want to get drinks spilled on you by drunk hooligans wasted on exctasy then you might want to wander over to the Lobby Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. There is live dance music and a list of more than 100 premium tequilas to enjoy while you smoke your Cohiba.
If you require transportation assistance or if you have other personal requests, please call the Ritz-Carlton Concierge at (998) 881-0808.
On Sunday nights head downtown to the Parque de las Palapas (the main park) for Noches Caribeños, where live tropical music and dance is provided free of charge. In the summer there are sometimes shows on Friday or Saturday nights as well or on special occasions. Performances begin at 7:30pm but are usually late in starting.
Alcoholics Anonymous Cancun
All meetings are in english and located in Cancun Downtown, Avenida Nader, Plaza Centro 3rd. floor.
The easiest way to get there is to take a taxi.
" Plaza Centro en Avenida Nader por favor"
Depending on where you stay in the Cancun Hotel zone, it should cost between US $5.00 and US $10.00 per taxi, not per person.
The other way would be to take a bus.
Once you get off the bus you will be in the center of town and very close to the meeting. You can ask any of the vendors:
"Donde esta la Plaza Centro"
Most of these vendors speak english and can point you in the right direction.
