El Rey is a small site located in Cancún. Known as the Kinich Ahau Group after a carved stone human head found there. This Post-Classic site is made up of two plazas surrounded by buildings and platforms.
|
The most interesting building is a palace which had a roof held up by 18 columns. The temples still have mural paintings containing Ahau glyphs, numerals, and portrayals of human beings.
