Cancun Fishing

Cancun Mexico Fishing
Long before the golfers, sun-worshippers and luxury hotels, Cancun was a small fishing village. The Maya have been fishing these waters for centuries and still do, along with sport fishermen from around the globe.

Cancun reigns supreme for both blue water and shallow fishing. Deep waters teem with Barracuda, Grouper, Bonita, Red Snapper, Amberjack, Mackerel, and Wahoo year round. From March to June go big-game tackle for Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna and Dorado.

CANCUN FISHING TOUR FAQ

Q: What language does the crew speak?
A: The crew speaks Spanish and English.

Q: What do they do with the fish you catch?
A: The fish can be prepared by the crew to be cooked and given to you,
otherwise it is taken by the crew. Bigger species like the sailfish and Blue
Marlin are released after the catch unless you wish it to be stuffed.

Q: Should a person bring any equipment?
A: No, all necessary equipment is provided.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: There is a Government office that regulates the safety in our port. If the
port is open the fishing tour will depart even if it is raining. If the
authorities close the port the fishing trip gets cancelled and a
reimbursement applies.

Q: Does the crew have any first-aid training?
A: Yes, they all have a CPR training.

Q: Do I need a Fishing License?
A: Yes. A fishing license is included as part of your package with any of our fishing tours except Night Fishing. For the Night Fishing tour you must pay a fee of $5.00 USD for the fishing license, payable directly at the dock.
